Fourth Wall: Duets is a spellbinding show that weaves classical ballet and contemporary dance, digital painting and enthralling narrative threads into a celebration of France and Singapore within the Voilah! Festival. A feast for the senses, this unique event attempts to break the conventional ‘fourth wall’ where the roles of performers and audience blur to create an evocative experience for the eyes, ears, palate and soul.

Set in an elegant art gallery, the programme features three intertwined duet performances complemented by free-flowing French wines.

The show encompasses The Unfinished, an award-winning VR interactive experience with a duet ballet performance revolving around the love story of French sculptors Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel. Pulsing with the rhythm of classical music, the virtual dancers swirl in a space laden with nostalgy.

Inspired by them, Edwin Wee and Rachel Lum, a duet of Singaporean contemporary choreographers, will reimagine the narrative and unfold it on the stage. With fluid virtuosity, the dancing duet slide and leap in and out of light and darkness to resonate between past and present.

The programme is rounded off with the third performance staged by a duet of visual and digital artists: Andrée Weschler and Zenith Chan will unveil their collaborative creative adventure by embedding art and technology into an unique oneiric texture.
